2013 Refosco by Domaine Mercouri, Vol 13.5%
Grape Variety: Refosco
Region: P.D.O. Letrini / W. Peloponnese
Did you know?
In 1870 Theodore Mercouri imported cuttings of the Refosco variety from Friuli in Northern Italy and planted the first vineyard. Later on, the wines from the Estate were exported to Europe on small sailing boats that anchored in the tiny bay just in front of the estate to load barrels full of this unique wine and transport them to Trieste.
This bottle hides the perfect love story between Italy and Greece. Here lyes a perfect blend between the strong dark grape Refosco and the aromatic Mavrodaphne.
Refosco Mercouri has a deep purple colour and intense red fruit aromas. The tannins are fine and rounded offering a long cherry aftertaste.
